Behind the Night

Introduction
Miss Asia Pageant has been held since 1985 and this is the 21st anniversary of the pageant. As different from the previous pageants, contestants of Miss Asia Pageant 2009 are mainly from 〝The Great China Areas〞. The pageant will be divided into three regions：


1. Mainland China Region
1.1 There will be eight contest zones in Mainland China namely northeast, eastern part, northern part, southern part, central part, southwest, northwest and Si Chuan. QQ.com internet and Inforwave mobile phone will form another two virtual contest zones and thirty two contestants will be selected from these zones.

1.2 The final will be held on September 13, 2009 in Mainland China. The winner, 1st runner-up, 2nd runner up ,the other top three of the final and the highest voting scorers in the QQ.com internet and Inforwave mobile phone will be entitled to join the semi-final of Miss Asia Pageant 2009 in Hong Kong

1.3 Beijing Zhong Shi Tai He Movie Culture Media Company Limited is the co-organizer of the pageant in Mainland China. The company is responsible for the whole recruitment events and the grand final of Mainland China. QQ.com is the authorized media for internet recruitment while Inforwave Technology Company Limited is the media for mobile phone voting recruitment

2. Hong Kong and Macau Region
2.1 The recruitment period is from July 9, 2009 to August 10, 2009. The sourcing areas include Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Toronto, Hong Kong and other Asian Countries

2.2 Around fifteen contestants will be selected in the early of September. They will undergo a series of trial and quiz and eight contestants will be finalized on September 29, 2009 for the semi-final of Miss Asia Pageant 2009.

3. Taiwan Region
Four representatives from Taiwan will get the qualification to join the semi-final of Miss Asia Pageant 2009 through different contests in Taiwan .

Semi-final
Twenty semi-finalists from Hong Kong and Macau region, Mainland China and Taiwan will gather in Hong Kong before October 1, 2009 for the training, promotion, location shooting, and public relations activities. The semi-final of Miss Asia Pageant 2009 will be held in the largest studio in Asia, studio 8 of Asia Television Limited on October 18, 2009 Panel of judges including representatives from entertainment business, celebrities from different fields will judge out twelve finalists.

Grand Final
Twelve finalists will take part in the location shooting, promotional and public relations activities afterwards. The grand final of Miss Asia Pageant 2009 will be carried out on November 1, 2009 in the studio 8 of Asia Television Limited. Famous artistes will be invited as the performers for the pageant. Winner, 1st runner-up, 2nd runner-up and other title winners of Miss Asia Pageant 2009 will be selected by the panel of judges.
